Osher Coffee with SDSU #1

While there’s a lot of learning taking place in our courses, it’s important to have fun and connect with one another outside the classroom in a relaxed, informal setting.

Open to current and aspiring members, Osher Coffee with SDSU is a social event held once a month in Spring and Fall terms. It’s an opportunity to mingle with other current, former and aspiring Osher @ SDSU members to organically build camaraderie and community. Each month we will have a special guest.
Please note: Coffee and refreshments are available for purchase at each venue. Venues are selected to provide ample parking and meeting space as well as self-service refreshments.

Osher and the Arts: ‘Blue Gold: The Art and Science of Indigo’ Mingei Museum Tour

Blue Gold: The Art and Science of Indigo is among more than 70 exhibitions and programs presented as part of Getty’s 2024 PST ART initiative. Returning in September 2024 with its latest edition, PST ART: Art & Science Collide, this landmark regional event explores the intersections of art and science. The heart of PST ART is always the distinctive cultural identity of Southern California and the universal hunger for artistic and intellectual discovery. Please join Osher @ SDSU for a guided docent tour of this amazing exhibition.

Elder Fraud and Elder Financial Abuse Special Presentation with the U.S. Attorney’s Office

Osher at SDSU cordially invites you to a very important special presentation by Assistant United States Attorney Oleksandra “Sasha” Johnson, elder fraud coordinator at the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Sasha specializes in elder financial abuse, investigation and prosecution of elder fraud cases in federal court. This event will touch on explanations of elder financial abuse and various methods used by criminals (mail, computer, phone, TV/radio, in person) and will give an overview of the types of financial fraud schemes currently trending in Southern California (e.g. grandparent scams, romance scams, investment scams). Learn what are the typical signs of financial abuse, and how to avoid it. on elder financial abuse, investigation and prosecution of elder fraud cases in federal court.
