Please join Osher @ SDSU and the Center for Excellence in Aging and Longevity (CEAL) for this special screening. Join or Die is a thought-provoking documentary that explores the vital role of community involvement and civic engagement in sustaining a healthy democracy. Centered around the work of political scientist Robert Putnam—best known for his book Bowling Alone—the film examines the decline of social capital in America and its impact on political polarization, public trust, and individual well-being. Through compelling interviews, historical analysis, and personal stories, Join or Die makes a powerful case for reviving local clubs, organizations, and face-to-face connections as a means to strengthen both communities and democracy itself.
